Suian

A town in Suan County, North Hwanghae Province, North Korea. The county seat. Known as a gold producing area. The gold mine is one of the old gold mines, located in Namjeong-ri, Suan County, and is composed of Proterozoic carbonate rocks, the Tancheonite Group, and the Amphibian Group. The ore consists of chalcopyrite, pyrite, molybdenite, and native gold, contained in garnet and olivine skarn. Ludwigite, small fujistone, and Suanite are also produced.

北朝鮮、黄海北道(こうかいほくどう／ファンヘプクド)遂安郡にある邑(ゆう)（町）。郡の所在地。金の産地として知られる。金鉱は古い金山の一つで、遂安郡楠亭里(なんていり)にあり、原生代の炭酸塩岩類、端川(たんせん)岩群、鴨緑(おうりょく)岩群で構成されている。鉱石は黄銅鉱、黄鉄鉱、輝水鉛鉱、自然金からなり、ざくろ石、橄欖石(かんらんせき)のスカルン中に含まれている。またルードウィヒ石、小藤石(ことうせき)、遂安石も産出される。
