This refers to soil distributed in forested areas. Forest soil receives a large amount of organic matter in the form of fallen leaves and branches from the trees that make up the forest every year, and the amount is estimated to range from a few tons to more than 25 tons per hectare per year. Litter is decomposed into humus by small animals and microorganisms in the soil, and some of the inorganic components and mineralized nitrogen produced during the decomposition process are absorbed and used again as nutrients by the trees, so these decomposition processes are important factors that control the circulation of materials in forests and have a significant impact on the formation of forest soil.
