A Japanese-language monthly magazine published in Beijing, China. Published by the People's China Magazine Company, Foreign Languages Publishing Administration, Ministry of Culture, State Council (the legal publisher in Japan is Toho Bookstore). It was first published in June 1953 as the Japanese version of the English foreign information magazine People's China. Later, the Chinese government's political and diplomatic information magazine Beijing Weekly (first published in August 1963) was published, and it became a general magazine introducing the state of China. As of 1983, the circulation is approximately 70,000. Other Japanese-language periodicals published in China include the monthly graphic magazine China Pictorial. 中国,北京で出版されている日本語月刊雑誌。国務院文化部外文出版事業管理局《人民中国》雑誌社の発行(日本での法定発行所は東方書店)。1953年6月,英文の対外広報誌《People’s China》の日本語版として創刊された。その後,中国政府の政治・外交の広報誌《北京周報》(1963年8月創刊)が発行され,中国事情紹介の総合誌となった。83年現在の発行部数は約7万。中国出版の日本語定期刊行物にはほかに月刊グラフ誌《中国画報》がある。
