A Chinese poet of the early Tang dynasty. Born in Neihuang, Xiangzhou (Henan Province). His pen name was Yunqing. In 675, he passed the Jinshi examination and held the posts of Xie Li Lang and Ji Zhong, but because he had courted Zhang Yizhi, he was charged with bribery when Empress Wu Zetian's government fell and was exiled to Jizhou (North Vietnam). Later, during the Shenlong era, he was recalled to the central government, and served as a direct scholar of the Shubunkan, a Zhongshu Sheren, and a Prince's Junior Clerk (Senji). He was influenced by the poetry of the Six Dynasties but had a fresh style of poetry, and was active as a court poet along with Song Zhiwen and Du Xinyan. He was also instrumental in perfecting the form of seven-character regulated verse (→ regulated verse) together with Song Zhiwen, and is referred to as "Shen Song."

中国，初唐の詩人。相州内黄（河南省）の人。字は雲卿。上元2（675）年進士に及第，協律郎，給事中などを歴任したが，張易之に取り入ったため，則天武后の政権が倒れると収賄罪に問われて驩州（北ベトナム）に流された。のち神竜年間，中央に呼び戻され修文館直学士から中書舎人，太子少詹事（せんじ）となって終わった。六朝詩の影響を受けつつも清新な詩風で宋之問，杜審言らと宮廷詩人として活躍し，また宋之問とともに七言律詩（→律詩）の形式の完成に力があり，「沈宋」と並称される。
