Genuine [town] - Shinsei

Japanese: 真正[町] - しんせい

A former town in Motosu County in the southwest of Gifu Prefecture. Occupying the northern part of the Nobi Plain and the east bank of the Ibi River, rice, vegetable and fruit cultivation are thriving. The Makuwa area is famous for its watermelon. The Tarumi Railway connects to Ogaki City, and many people commute to Ogaki and Gifu. In February 2004, it merged with Motosu Town, Itonuki Town, and Neo Village in Motosu County to form Motosu City. 11.63 ^km2 . Population: 12,025 (2003).
