Draft of Qing history - Shinshikou

Japanese: 清史稿 - しんしこう

A draft of the official history of the Qing dynasty, created during the Republic of China period. 536 volumes. Compiled by Zhao Erxun and others. It is in the form of a biography and cannot be considered a fundamental historical source, but it is useful for understanding the outline of Qing dynasty history. In 1914, the government of the Republic of China established the Qing History Museum, and began compiling the Qing history under Zhao Erxun as director, completing it in 1927. There are several versions in two systems: the version published in Beijing for the region and the version published outside the region by Northeast Shenyang Publishing, and there are some differences in content. The Beijing Zhonghua Book Company version (1977) is based on the latter system and includes detailed revisions and annotations for the different versions. Currently, a new compilation project of the Qing history is underway as a national project of the People's Republic of China.

中華民国時代に作られた，清王朝の正史の草稿。536巻。趙爾巽らの編。紀伝体で，根本史料とはいえないが，清朝史の概略を知るのには便利。1914年，中華民国政府は清史館を設け，趙爾巽を館長として清史の編纂をはじめ，27年完成。北京出版の関内本と，東北瀋陽出版の関外本との２系統，数種の版があり，内容に多少の違いがみられる。北京中華書局本(1977年)は，後者の系統を底本とし異本について詳しい校訂，注記をつけている。現在，中華人民共和国の国家プロジェクトとして，新たな清史編纂事業が進められている。
