One of the New Testament Apocrypha. It contains the stories of Peter's victory over Simon Magus, the Quo Vadis story, and Peter's upside-down crucifixion. Written in Asia Minor at the end of the 2nd century, it is a book for believers that collects popular traditions. The Acts of Paul and the Didascalia from the first half of the 3rd century seem to have used the Acts of Peter. It seems to have been popular in the church at the time, but the church historian Eusebius, who lived in the early 4th century, denied the value of its testimony.
