Agarwood - Jinko
〘Noun〙① An evergreen tall tree of the Thymelaeaceae family. It is found from India to Southeast Asia. The trunk can reach a height of 20 meters. The leaves are oblong , 5-7 cm long, and pointed at the end. The flowers are bell-shaped with a deep lobe and are white. The fruit is oval, about 5 cm long, and splits into two when ripe. The wood is prized as a fragrant tree, and in India it is also used for medicine. Jin. [Jukanbon Wamyosho (around 934)]② A natural fragrance extracted from ①. A fungus invades the trunk, and the ingredients secreted in combat with the mycelium become the fragrance.
