Deep sea - Shinkai (English spelling) abyss

There is no clear definition of how deep the deep sea is. In oceanography, it generally refers to depths of more than 2000 meters, and is never used to refer to depths shallower than 1000 meters. The English adjective abyssal refers to depths of 300 fathoms (about 540 meters), and in deep-sea fauna, the deep sea refers to depths deeper than the upper limit of the continental slope. In terms of undersea topography, the deep sea floor refers to the ocean floor 2000 to 6000 meters deep, of which the area of ​​the 4000 to 5000 meters deep part is the largest, accounting for about one-third of the entire ocean floor.
