...In February 1975, a conflict broke out within the military, and Colonel Ratsimandraba seized power, but was assassinated six days later. General Andriamahazo took over full power and established a military council. In June 1975, the military council appointed Navy Lieutenant Commander Didier Ratsiraka as head of state. In December, Ratsiraka drew up a new constitution, dissolved the military council, and replaced it with the following five institutions:
