? ‐335 Bishop of Rome (Pope). Reigned from 314 to 335. Legend has it that he baptized the leper Emperor Constantine, cured him of his illness, and donated his wealth to him (Donation of Constantine). He built the Lateran Basilica (Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterano). He is the patron saint of stonemasons, plasterers, etc. In artworks, he is depicted holding objects related to the legend, such as a bull (which he brought back to life) and a dragon (which he sealed its poisonous mouth).
