Shirane Sanzan - Shirane Sanzan

Japanese: 白根三山 - しらねさんざん

Also written as Shiraneyama. A mountain range in the northern part of the Akaishi Mountains. It refers to the three mountains Kitadake (3192m), Ainodake (3190m), and Notoridake (3026m) located near the border of Yamanashi, Shizuoka, and Nagano prefectures. It is made up of Mesozoic strata, and includes slate, sandstone, and limestone. It belongs to the Southern Alps National Park, and is popular with traversers. The Okabasawa Trail, which crosses Yashajin Pass from the Kofu Basin side, the Yatsubonba Trail, and the Daimonzawa Trail from Narata, Hayakawa Town are the most popular routes.

白峰 (しらね) 山とも書く。赤石山脈北部の山群。山梨・静岡・長野県の県境付近にある北岳 (3192m) ，間ノ岳 (3190m) ，農鳥岳 (3026m) の3山をいう。中生代の地層から成り，粘板岩，砂岩，石灰岩などがみられる。南アルプス国立公園に属し，縦走者が多い。甲府盆地側から夜叉神峠を越える大樺沢コース，八本歯コース，早川町奈良田方面からの大門沢コースが多く利用される。
