Takumi - Shoumei

This is a five-volume book on carpenter's lumber division written in the early Edo period. The author was Heinouchi Masanobu (1583-1645). At the end of each volume there is a colophon written by Masanobu in 1608 (Keicho 13) and one written by Masanobu's father Yoshimasa in 1610. The original has not been handed down, and of the existing copies, the one held by the University of Tokyo is the oldest and most complete. Heinouchi Masanobu became the chief carpenter of the construction department of the Edo Shogunate in 1632 (Kan'ei 9). The five volumes are composed of collections of gate records, shrine records, hall records, pagoda records, and palace records.

江戸初期に記された、5巻からなる大工の木割書。筆者は平内(へいのうち)政信（1583―1645）。それぞれの巻末に、1608年（慶長13）の政信による奥書、同10年の政信の父吉政の奥書がある。原本は伝わらず、現存写本のうち、東京大学所蔵のものがもっとも古くかつ整っている。平内政信は1632年（寛永9）に江戸幕府の作事方大棟梁(とうりょう)になっている。5巻の構成は、門記集、社記集、堂記集、塔記集、殿屋集である。
