A middleman authorized to buy and sell on the commodity market on behalf of others. Before the 1967 amendment to the Commodity Exchange Law, they were called commodity brokers. To become a commodity trader, a qualified member of a commodity exchange must apply for registration and obtain permission from the competent minister.
