Ji Province - Jixiang

...The province is high in the west and low in the east, with plateaus and mountains making up about 3/5 of the province, and plains making up about 2/5. It borders the provinces of Shandong, Henan, Shanxi, and Liaoning, as well as the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. In the oldest Chinese geographical book, Yu Gong (a part of the Book of Documents), it is classified as part of the two prefectures of Kyushu, Ji and Yan, but since most of it was in the Jizhou region, it is still sometimes called Ji Province.

In the flat Hebei Plain, which opens to the southeast and is bordered by the Taihang Mountains to the west and the Yanshan Mountains to the north, the rivers flow roughly from west to east before emptying into the Bohai Bay.
