A Renga poet from the early Edo period. Family name Satomura, given name Kagetoshi, pen names Kaiean, Haihokuan, and Chikuan. A native of Kyoto. Born into the distinguished Satomura family to Shoshitsu and Joha's daughter, he became the second head of the Minami family. In 1608 (Keicho 13), he became a Hokyo, and in 1626 (Kan'ei 3), he received the Kokin Tenshu from Emperor Gomizunoo. Among his pupils were leading haiku poets such as Soin and Shigeyori. He passed away on February 5, Kan'ei 13, at the age of 62 (or 63). "Kimono wo ru Shizuhata Yama ka Kumo kasumi" (From Shotaku Kushu). [Inui Hiroyuki]

江戸初期の連歌師。姓は里村,名は景敏,号は懐恵庵,拝北庵,竹庵。京都の人。昌叱(しようしつ)を父とし紹巴(じようは)の娘を母として名門里村家に生まれ,南家の2代目を継いだ。1608年(慶長13)法橋となり,26年(寛永3)後水尾上皇より古今伝授を受けた。門人に宗因,重頼ら有数の俳諧師もいる。寛永13年2月5日没。享年62(または63)歳。〈衣をるしづはた山か雲かすみ〉(《昌琢句集》)。【乾 裕幸】
