Chinese politician. Supreme leader of the Kuomintang (right wing) after the death of Sun Yat-sen. Autocratic ruler of the Republic of China from 1928 to 1949, he spent the rest of his life as the leader of a government in exile based in Taiwan Province after the establishment of the People's Republic of China. Biological father of Chiang Ching-kuo. His pen name was Zhongzheng. His original name was Ruiyuan. His academic name was Zhiqing. He was from Fenghua County, Zhejiang Province. He was of merchant background. After graduating from Baoding Zhenwu School (Military Academy) in 1907 (the 33rd year of the Guangxu era), he studied at the Army Academy in Japan, and in the same year joined the China Tongming Hui through the introduction of Chen Qimei. In 1911, upon learning of the Wuchang Uprising, he returned to China and worked under Chen Qimei, commander of the Hujun military in Shanghai.

中国の政治家。孫文死後の国民党(右派)の最高指導者。1928年から49年までの時期の中華民国の独裁的支配者であり，中華人民共和国成立後，台湾省に本拠を置く亡命政権の指導者としてその生涯を送った。蔣経国の実父。字は中正。原名瑞元。学名志清。浙江省奉化県の人。商人の出身。1907年(光緒33)保定振武学校(軍官学校)を卒業後，日本の陸軍士官学校に留学，同年，陳其美の紹介で中国同盟会に加入した。11年，武昌蜂起を知って帰国し，上海の滬軍都督陳其美のもとで活躍した。
