Unshu - Unshu

…A major fruit tree that is cultivated in the tropics to warm temperate zones along with apples and grapes in temperate zones and bananas in tropical zones, and is produced in large quantities. In Japan, the representative is the Unshu mandarin orange. In the past, the characters tachibana, kan, yuzu, daidai, and ki were used to refer to each fruit, but it is said that it was only after the mid-Edo period that they began to be referred to collectively as citrus fruits.
