Zhou-bi Suan-jing (English: Zhou-bi Suan-jing)

Japanese: 周髀算経 - しゅうひさんけい（英語表記）Zhou-bi suan-jing

A Chinese book on astronomy and mathematics. Author unknown. Two volumes. The main part was compiled during the Later Han dynasty and published in the Song dynasty. It includes annotations by Zhao Junqing from the Later Han or Three Kingdoms period, Zhen Luan from the Northern Zhou dynasty, and Li Chunfeng from the Tang dynasty. The title is said to come from the Zhou dynasty's measurement of the heavens and the earth using an eight-foot pole called a pi. It includes mathematical content, such as the value of pi being 3, but is based on the law of ku (point), gu (foot), and xu (string) and xu (string), and explains the Gaitian theory, a representative Chinese view of the universe, along with the Hun Tian theory.

中国の天文数学書。著者不詳。上下2巻。おもな部分は後漢の頃編纂され，宋代に刊本となった。後漢または三国時代の趙君卿，北周の甄鸞 (しんらん) ，唐の李淳風らの注釈が加えられている。書名は，周代に髀という8尺の棒によって天地を測定算出したことによるという。円周率を3とするなど数学的内容も含むが，句 (こう) ，股 (こ) ，弦の法 (ピタゴラスの定理) を基礎とし，渾天説とともに中国の代表的な宇宙観である蓋天説を説く。
