[1] 〘 noun 〙 Red light. Red glow. Especially the red light of the sun in the evening. ※Kokin Chomonshu (1254) 2 “At that moment, a red light shone from the west and reached the sleeping quarters.” ※Red Light ( 1913) by Saito Mokichi, Funeral Fire “Floating in the red light, a coffin went far away, the fields seemed to reach the end .” [2] A collection of tanka poems. Written by Saito Mokichi. Published in 1913 ( Taisho 2 ). 834 poems. This is the author's first collection of tanka poems, sensual in its Manyo-style, singing of robust vitality and sharp, intense sensuality. It established the author's reputation as one that gave tanka a modern character.

Aka-bikari [red light]

〘 noun 〙 The condition of skin or the surface of an object shining red. Red and shiny. ※Ryokyo Rigonkou (around 1868-70) "Akahikari" means something that is red and shiny. It goes without saying. However, you have never heard of the term akahikari in reference to lightning, thunder, or fire."

あか‐びかり【赤光】

〘名〙 皮膚や物の表面などが、赤く光っていること。赤くてつやのあること。※両京俚言考(1868‐70頃)「アカヒカリ 赤くて光あるものをいふはいふまでもなくて明らかなり。されども電光雷火などにアカヒカリとは聞かず」
