Located in the eastern side of the Rocky Mountains in western Alberta, Canada, this national park is famous for its mountain beauty and glaciers. It covers an area of ​​10,900 square kilometers. It was established in 1907. The beauty of the Canadian Rockies is said to surpass that of the Swiss Alps, and it is known worldwide as a tourist and health resort under the name of the Canadian Rockies, along with Banff National Park in the south. Among its attractions are Maligne Canyon, Maligne Lake, Columbia Glacier, Athabasca Glacier, and Peyto Glacier Lake. The town of Jasper, with a population of 4,180 (2001), is located within the park and serves as a base for tourists. It is served by the Canadian Pacific Railway and highways, and has modern hotels and modern facilities. In the northern part of the park, there is Miette Hot Springs, which also has an outdoor pool. The Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks, including this park, were registered as a natural World Heritage Site in 1984 (World Natural Heritage Site).

カナダ、アルバータ州西部、ロッキー山脈東側に位置する山岳美と氷河で有名な国立公園。面積1万0900平方キロメートル。1907年制定。カナダ側のロッキー山脈の山岳美はスイス・アルプスをしのぐともいわれ、カナディアン・ロッキーの名で観光・保養地として、南部のバンフ国立公園とともに世界的に知られている。なかでも、マリーン峡谷、マリーン湖、コロンビア氷河やアサバスカ氷河、ペイト氷河湖などが有名である。公園内には人口4180(2001)のジャスパーの町があり、観光基地となっている。カナダ太平洋鉄道とハイウェーが通り、近代的ホテルやモダンな設備を有している。公園の北部にはミエット温泉があり、屋外プールも設備されている。この公園を含むカナディアン・ロッキー山脈公園群は、1984年に世界遺産の自然遺産として登録されている(世界自然遺産)。
