A mountain in northern California, USA. Located at the southern end of the north-south Cascade Range, it is a dormant volcano with an elevation of 4,317m. Its name comes from the name of an Indian tribe. It was discovered in 1827 by Canadian fur trader PS Ogden, and was first climbed by ED Pierce's team in 1854. While its elevation is lower than Mount Whitney in central eastern California, its majestic cone-shaped form leaves an impression. A glacier can be seen at the summit.
