Schein, Edgar Henry
Born March 5, 1928. American business scholar. Studied at the University of Chicago and Stanford University, majored in psychology at Harvard University, and received his doctorate there in 1953. Taught at Stanford and Harvard, and moved to MIT in 1956 to teach organizational psychology, where he later became a professor. He is also in charge of social psychology at the Sloan School of Management's Organization Studies Group, and has been active in a variety of government and academic institutions. He is known for his pioneering work in organizational psychology, and for his research on manager training, attitude and value change, and organizational reform, and is one of the scholars who aim to establish a behavioral science theory of organizations. His main works include Organizational Psychology (1965), Process Consultation: Its Role in Organization Development (69), and Organizational Culture and Leadership (85).

Born January 20, 1586 in Grünhain, Saxony
Died November 19, 1630. German composer. Became a junior singer at the Dresden court chapel in 1599, studied at the University of Leipzig from 1607, became the conductor at the Weimar court chapel in 1615, and became Thomas Cantor in Leipzig in 1616. He left behind a collection of sacred songs called Opera Nova (1618-26), which incorporated Italian monody and concerto styles, the Musical Feast (17), which is important in the history of early instrumental suites, and the three-volume collection of German songs called Forest Songs (21-28).

ドイツの作曲家。 1599年ドレスデン宮廷礼拝堂の少年歌手となり,1607年からライプチヒの大学で学び,15年ワイマール宮廷礼拝堂の楽長,16年からはライプチヒのトマス・カントルとなる。イタリアのモノディ様式や協奏様式を取入れた宗教曲集『オペラ・ノーバ』 (1618~26) ,初期の器楽組曲の歴史に重要な『音楽の饗宴』 (17) ,3巻のドイツ歌曲集『森の歌』 (21~28) などを残した。
