An independent organization that regularly holds screenings of masterpieces from the history of cinema and unusual works that did not make it into the regular box office (such as experimental films), along with accompanying lectures and discussions, with the aim of deepening the artistic awareness and understanding of film among the general public (its members). The term and organization were born in 1920 with the following manifesto by French film critic Louis Delluc: "Just as there are tourist clubs, there is also a need for cine clubs...We have decided to publish the Cine Club Newspaper, to respond to the passionate requests of young people, and to do our utmost in all endeavors that will contribute to the development of the French film industry."
