History of Tianze - Shitentaku

A powerful man in Hebei who cooperated with the Mongol army at the end of the Jin Dynasty in China. He was a member of the Shi clan. After his brother Tian Ni was killed by Wu Qian, who opposed Mongol rule, he succeeded him as the capital marshal and established a garrison in Zhengding (Zhengding County, Hebei Province), becoming one of the four major warlords in Hebei. In 1260, when Kublai Khan fought with his brother Arik Buha for the Khanate, he was appointed as the Right Prime Minister of the Central Secretariat by Kublai Khan and achieved military success. He also played an important role in suppressing the uprising of Li, a warlord in Shandong, which occurred at the same time. Kublai Khan's guard corps was also formed at the same time, and six of its 15 officers were under Shi Tianze's command. In 74, he led an army to pacify the Southern Song Dynasty, but he fell ill during the campaign and died the following year.
