A town in Katta County, on the southwestern edge of Miyagi Prefecture, south of Mount Zao. The name is an amalgamation of the seven inns along the Shichikashuku Highway, part of the Ushu Kaido Highway. In addition to dairy farming, the town produces vegetables and fruit. Shichikashuku Dam, the largest in Miyagi Prefecture, was completed in 1991. The town suffered damage in the Great East Japan Earthquake. 263.09 km2 . 1,694 people (2010). 宮城県南西端,蔵王山南側の刈田(かった)郡の町。羽州街道の一部の七ヶ宿街道に沿う七つの宿を合わせた地名である。酪農を行うほか,野菜,果樹を産する。1991年宮城県最大の七ヶ宿ダムが完成した。東日本大震災で,町内において被害が発生。263.09km2。1694人(2010)。
