〘 noun 〙 A way of thinking that has no clear principles or fixed views of one's own, and simply follows those who have the most influence. ※Kanmimi (1908) by Shibukawa Genji, a rebuke of servility: "The Meiji era is already approaching its fortieth year. It would not be too early for Sugawara no Michizane to come forward and rebuke servility ."
