Date of birth and death unknown. A townsman of Osaka in the early Edo period. In the 1679 (Enpo 7) edition of "Naniwa no Tsuru," he is listed as living in Itachibori and as one of the Sodoshiyori (general elders) of the Minami-gumi. Tachibori canal, also written as Datebori or Weaselbori, is one of several canals that flow from the Nishiyokobori River in Osaka into the Hyakkenbori River. It was excavated in 1620 (Genwa 6), and construction was suspended for a time, but was completed by Shishikuya in 1626 (Kan'ei 3). The fifth bridge from the east is called Shishikuyabashi. There was probably a mansion nearby. [Osamu Wakita] "History of Osaka City, Volume 1" (1913, Osaka City) Source: Shogakukan Encyclopedia Nipponica About Encyclopedia Nipponica Information | Legend |
