Shikimori Inosuke - Shikimori Inosuke

Japanese:
Shikimori Inosuke - Shikimori Inosuke

He is a professional sumo referee (tategyoji), second only to Kimura Shonosuke. In 1767 (Meiwa 4), the first elder Isenomi Godayu founded the referee Shikimori family, and when referring to referees, he was called Shikimori Godayu, and established a separate school from the referee Kimura Shonosuke school. For a long time, there were two families of referees, the Kimura and Shikimori, but in 1911 (Meiji 44), when Kimura Shozaburo took on the name Shikimori Inosuke (10th), the distinction between the two families disappeared, and the way was opened for Inosuke to be promoted to Shonosuke. Currently, Shonosuke (31st as of 2003) and Inosuke (33rd as of 2003) are the two tategyoji who referee matches between yokozuna and ozeki.
