Born: September 6, 1912, Karoksa, Austria-Hungary [Died] January 8, 1992. Paris, France. A Hungarian-born French sculptor. He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Budapest, and in 1936 went to Paris to study at the School of Fine Arts in the same city. In 1950, he produced a sculpture he called "Spatial Dynamics" that combined light and movement. He worked on "cybernetic sculptures," three-dimensional sculptures that integrated light, sound, and movement with automatic control mechanisms, and in 1961 built the "Cybernetic Tower" in Liège. His goal was to revolutionize art and create a new relationship between art and society, and he expanded this to urban planning. Aiming to socialize art through mass production, he produced an object called "Lumino" at Philips. In 1970, he came to Japan and produced "Lux." His books include "The Cybernetic City" (La Ville Cybernétique) (1969) and others.
