The basic method of dramaturgy in classical French drama. Also known as the "three unities" or "three unities." It refers to the three coincidences of time, place, and plot, and furthermore, the theory that events in a play must take place within a day, in the same place, and be consistent from beginning to end. It is said to have originated in Aristotle's Poetics, and the 17th century French playwright Boileau asserted it as an absolute and immutable law. Racine, Corneille, Molière, and others left behind masterpieces based on this law. → Related articles Götz von Berlichingen | Classicism | Vega | Moratin Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
