A late Edo period author of gokan (collected volumes). He was the younger brother of Santo Kyoden, and his real name was Iwase Momoki. His pen name was Tetsubai, he was commonly known as Soshiro, and his other names were Santoan, Santosha, and Tetsuhitsudo. His debut work was "Katakiuchiimoseyama Monogatari" (The Tale of Revenge of Imoseyama) published in 1807 (Bunka 4), and he wrote over 50 collected volumes. At first, following the example of his elder brother Kyoden, he wrote a few readings and humorous stories, but after Kyoden's death in 1881, he devoted himself to collages of stories about revenge, and in his later years he wrote many long collages in the style of ukiyo-zoshi (tales of the world), such as "Mukashimoyo Musume Hyoban-ki" (1835-1842, 6 volumes in total), "Oomisokaakebonozoshi" (1839-1859, 26 volumes in total), and "Oshiegusa Nyobo Katagi" (1846-1858, 20 volumes in total). He is the third author of a collection of comics after Ryutei Tanehiko and Kyokutei Bakin, but his style is didactic and aimed at women and girls. He also wrote a well-known book on the subject of "Thoughts on Cross-dressing in the Rekishi Era" (1847).
