A town on Weh Island off the northwest coast of Sumatra, Indonesia. Located at the entrance to the Straits of Malacca, it was a transit point for maritime traffic in the 19th century. It is the northernmost and westernmost town in the country. It was severely damaged by the tsunami caused by the 2004 Sumatra earthquake. Scuba diving is popular here. A village in the center of the west coast of Palawan Island in the southwest of the Philippines. It is located about 50 km northeast of Puerto Princesa, on the coast of the South China Sea. It is a tourist base for the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, which was registered as a World Heritage Site (natural heritage) in 1999.
