Satsuma version - Satsumaban

Japanese: 薩摩版 - さつまばん
Satsuma version - Satsumaban
〘Noun〙 This refers to books published in Satsuma Province (Kagoshima Prefecture), which was the territory of the Shimazu clan, from the Muromachi period to the early modern period. It is said to have begun with the arrival of Keian Genju. Starting with "Shubun Yunryaku" and "Daigaku Shoku" published in Bunmei 13 (1481 ), and ending with "Huang Mu Gong Su Shu" and "Confucius Sacred Places" published in Keicho 20 ( 1616 ), there was a hiatus after that, with only a few publications seen at the end of the early modern period. Satsuma edition.
