A perennial vine of the Asclepiadaceae family, native to Kyushu and south to Australia. The stems crawl over rocks and tree trunks, and the leaves are opposite, elliptical, and thickly fleshy. In spring, it produces numerous flowers in clusters shaped like spheres. The corolla is 12-15 mm in diameter, white with a pale pink center, and has five deep lobes. ガガイモ科の多年生つる草で,九州以南〜オーストラリアに自生。茎は岩や樹幹などをはい,葉は対生し,楕円形で厚い肉質。春,多数の花を球状にかたまってつける。花冠は径12〜15mm,白色で中心部が淡紅色,5深裂する。観賞用に鉢植にされるが,冬は温室内に入れる。繁殖はおもにさし木による。
