A state in the southwestern United States. Abbreviated as Arizona or AZ. It has many mountains and plateaus, a dry climate, and some parts are desert. Irrigated agriculture is popular, and cotton is the main crop. Cattle and sheep are also grazed. In addition to copper, silver and gold are produced. The Colorado River flows through the northwest, and tourism is thriving with the Grand Canyon National Park and Hoover Dam. The state capital, Phoenix, has a thriving high-tech industry.
