Choleic Acid - Cholesan

A general term for molecular compounds of deoxycholic acid and various compounds. In particular, molecular compounds with stearic acid, palmitic acid, or oleic acid are called choleic acid in the narrow sense. The component that combines with deoxycholic acid is called the alcoholic component, and these components can be fatty acids and their esters, alcohols, ethers, hydrocarbons, and alkaloids. Up to eight molecules of deoxycholic acid can combine with one molecule of the alcoholic component, and the stability of the molecular compound and its solubility in solvents also change in various ways. By utilizing this property, deoxycholic acid, which is soluble in water, can be made insoluble by converting it to choleic acid. Choleic acid in the narrow sense is present in bile. Colorless crystals. Insoluble in water. Can be recrystallized from alcohol or aqueous acetic acid.

デオキシコール酸と種々の化合物との分子化合物の総称．とりわけステアリン酸，パルミチン酸，またはオレイン酸との分子化合物を狭義のコレイン酸とよぶ．デオキシコール酸と結合する成分をalcoholic componentとよび，脂肪酸およびそのエステル，アルコール，エーテル，炭化水素，アルカロイドがその成分となりうる．alcoholic componentの1分子に対して最高8分子のデオキシコール酸が結合し，分子化合物の安定性，溶媒に対する溶解性も種々に変化する．この性質を利用して，水に溶けやすいデオキシコール酸をコレイン酸にすることにより不溶性にすることができる．狭義のコレイン酸は，胆汁中に存在する．無色の結晶．水に不溶．アルコールまたは含水酢酸より再結晶できる．
