A letter written by Paul in the New Testament, addressed to the group of Christians he established in Corinth. There are two books, Epistle 1 and Epistle 2. Epistle 1 was written in 57 AD by Paul in response to various questions he received about marriage, virginity, donations, and other issues that he had received after leaving Corinth and going to Ephesus. His practical solutions to specific problems were a powerful guide to the difficulties faced by the church in the pagan world, and he also provided firm teachings on the need for love and faith in the resurrection, making it extremely valuable for understanding Paul's missionary work. However, this letter aroused resentment among some of the Corinthians, so Paul went to Corinth to try to resolve the worsening situation, but was unsuccessful. Paul then returned to Ephesus and entrusted Titus with a letter defending himself on the basis of his apostolic authority and fiercely denounced his opponents. This corresponds to chapters 10 to 13 of 2 Corinthians. However, after hearing that the situation had improved, and taking into consideration the impact on the Corinthians, he again entrusted Titus with a letter filled with his love and spirit of cooperation for the Corinthians. This corresponds to chapters 1 to 9, and it seems that these two letters written with completely different motives were somehow combined to form 2 Corinthians.
