A field in the area of Koya (Koya) Village, Muko District (later Kawabe District), Settsu Province, in the northern part of Itami City, Hyogo Prefecture. Like Tamena Village to the southeast, which is sung about as Inano in the Manyoshu, it is located on a flat plateau between the Inagawa and Mukogawa rivers, so there was little access to irrigation and it remained a large plain, but during the Nara period, Gyoki built the Konyo Pond and erected the Konyo Temple. In addition, the main road linking Kyoto and the western provinces ran east-west through the area, so Konyo (Koya) Village and the Konyo Pond were known as utamakura (pillow-themed poems) to Heian aristocrats, and when Taira no Kiyomori moved the capital to Fukuhara, there was even a proposal to build the capital in Konyo.
