Japanese: 戸籍筆頭者 - こせきひっとうしゃ
Head of family register - Koseki hittousha
The first person listed in each family register. It is either one of the spouses who did not change their surname upon marriage. In the case of a parent-child relationship, the parent becomes the head of the family. Unlike the head of the family under the old Civil Code, it has no legal meaning under substantive law.
