Located in Koshinohara, Yasu-cho, Yasu-gun, Shiga Prefecture, this famous archaeological site has unearthed a total of 24 bronze bells from a hill called Oiwayama. It is located at the tip of a scenic hill overlooking the Koto Plain, and 14 bronze bells were excavated in 1881, and another 10 bronze bells were excavated nearby in 1962, the largest number ever recorded at a single archaeological site. The discovery in 1962 included three sets of three nested bronze bells of different sizes, made by different groups of craftsmen and in different eras. Bell No. 1, discovered in 1881, is 134.5 cm tall and weighs 45 kg, making it the largest bronze bell in existence, and is the newest type in the Kinki region, with a pointed-line knob. 滋賀県野洲郡野洲町小篠原にあり,大岩山と呼んでいる丘陵から計24個もの銅鐸が出土した著名な遺跡。湖東平野を見下ろす景勝の丘陵突端に立地しており,1881年に14個,また1962年にはそのすぐ近くから10個の銅鐸がまとまって出土して,一遺跡での最多記録となっている。62年の発見では,製作年代も工人グループも異なった大小3個を入れ子にして組み合わせたものが3組あった。1881年の発見による1号鐸は,高さ134.5cm,重さ45kg,現存する最大の銅鐸で,突線鈕式に属し近畿地方では最も新しい型式である。
