A book of haiku formulas. Short for Haikai Gokasa. Written by Matsunaga Teitoku. 10 volumes. Published in 1651 (4th year of the Keian era). It arranges the words used in haiku in alphabetical order and explains sashiai (agreement) and sarikirai (dislike). This theory is a looser version of the formulas used in linked verse. Along with Abura-kasu and Yodogawa, it is known as the "Tei-toku Sanbu-sho" (The Three Teitoku Works), and since it was written by the head of Teimon haiku, it was considered a must-read book for haiku poets of the time and was highly revered. It was a widely circulated book, and revised and expanded versions include Sadamura and Kigin's Gokasa Daizen and his proverbial Gokasa Chogara Sho (1724).
