Japanese: 粉河[町] - こかわ

Kinokawa is an old town in the Naka district in northern Wakayama Prefecture. The main settlement on the right bank of the Kinokawa River developed as a temple town for the Tendai sect's Kokawa-dera temple, the third of the 33 temples of the Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage, and the Wakayama Line runs through the town. The town produces citrus fruits such as mandarins, and also grows flowers and vegetables. The Kokawa-dera temple's picture scroll, the Kokawa-dera Engi Emaki, is a national treasure. In November 2005, the town merged with the towns of Uchida, Naka, Momoyama, and Kishigawa in Naka district to become Kinokawa City. Area: 77.73 ^km2 . Population: 16,854 (2003).

和歌山県北部，那賀(なが)郡の旧町。紀ノ川右岸の主集落は西国三十三所第３番札所の天台宗粉河寺の門前町として発達，和歌山線が通じる。ミカンなどの柑橘(かんきつ)類を産し，花卉(かき)，野菜栽培も行う。粉河寺の絵巻《粉河寺縁起絵巻》は国宝。2005年11月，那賀郡打田町，那賀町，桃山町，貴志川町と合併し市制，紀の川市となる。77.73km²。１万6854人（2003）。
