A circuit in which four impedance elements are connected in a quadrilateral shape with an AC power source on one diagonal and a detector on the other diagonal is called an AC bridge circuit. The state in which no current flows through the detector is called an equilibrium state, and since it is known that there is a certain relationship between the four impedances at that time, it is used to measure unknown impedances using standard impedances. It can also be used to measure frequency. Depending on the type of impedance elements used, there are various types such as Maxwell bridges, Wien bridges, and Anderson bridges. Note that a bridge circuit consisting only of a DC power source and resistors is called a DC bridge, but the principle is similar.
