〘Noun〙 A bronze mirror made in Korea during the Goryeo period ( 918-1392 ). Most are circular, square, or octagonal, and there are also patterned and hanging mirrors. The backs of the mirrors are carved with animals, plants, people, landscapes, characters, or bodhisattva figures. Many are copies of Han mirrors, Tang dynasty mirrors, or Japanese mirrors. 〘名〙 朝鮮で高麗時代(九一八‐一三九二)に作られた銅鏡。円形、方形、八稜形などが多く、柄鏡や懸鏡もある。鏡背に動植物、人物、山水または文字、菩薩像などを彫ってある。漢鏡、唐鏡、和鏡などを原型として模したものが多い。
