A map of China created by Western missionaries including Régis, who were ordered by the Qing Dynasty's Kangxi Emperor, using triangulation points to survey the entire country. Surveying began in 1708 and was completed in 1717. No map bearing the name "Imperial Land Map" has been confirmed to exist. "Mankan Hebi Qing Neifu Itto Yochi Hizu" published by Jin Liang in 1927 is an atlas based on 41 copperplate maps that were in the Forbidden City in Shenyang, but each of these maps is thought to have been a partial map of "Imperial Land Map," and it is believed that the "Complete Map" was made by pasting together these partial maps. It is about 5.28 meters wide and 3.2 meters long. The National Library of Paris also has 13 partial maps printed from the same copperplate. The manuscript of this map is said to have been sent to Paris, but has never been found. All the maps of China that we have had access to until recently are based on the work of these missionaries.
