That one. ※Shoku Nihongi - Yoro 6th year (722), leap year 4th month, Oushi "As the peasants of this region live in the deserted wilderness, they can only work hard and harvest a little grain." ※Konjaku (around 1120), Vol. 5 "In autumn, the wilderness of the mountains is filled with beautiful autumn leaves." [Book of Documents - Setsumei, Part 2] ② In the middle of nowhere . A remote area. ③ Land that was exempt from taxes to encourage cultivation. In later times, some were written as Koya, Okiya, etc., and became place names.

あらし‐の【荒野】

〘名〙 作物を作らないで荒れている畑。休耕中の焼き畑。
