A former town in Kagawa County, located in central Kagawa Prefecture, bordering the south of Takamatsu City. The northern half is an alluvial lowland on the left bank of the Koto River, which flows through the city as an elevated river. In addition to cultivating rice and wheat using reservoir irrigation, vegetables, and dairy farming, the town also produces persimmons and grapes. Takamatsu Airport opened in the hilly area at the southern end in 1989. In January 2006, it was incorporated into Takamatsu City along with Aji Town, Mure Town, Kagawa Town, and Kokubunji Town in Kida County. Area: 14.72 km2 . Population: 8,072 (2003).
