Hou‐ch'ong (English spelling)

Japanese: 壺杅塚 - こうづか（英語表記）Hou‐ch‘ong

A Silla tomb from the Three Kingdoms period located in Noseo-dong, Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. It was surveyed by the National Museum of Korea in 1946. It is a wooden coffin tomb with piled stone, restored to a diameter of 16m and a height of 5m, and forms a double circle with the adjacent Silver Bell Tomb. The deceased, who was buried in a supine position in the wooden coffin, was wearing a gilt bronze crown and sandals, gold ear ornaments, a belt, bracelets, rings, jewels, and a sword. Outside the coffin, other grave goods included a bronze vessel with a lotus pattern cast on the lid, a wooden lacquer mask with a demon mask, horse equipment, iron weapons and tools, iron shovels, and earthenware.

韓国，慶尚北道慶州市路西洞にある，三国時代新羅の古墳。1946年韓国国立中央博物館によって調査された。径16m，高さ5mに復元される積石木槨墳で，隣接する銀鈴塚とともに双円形をなす。木棺内に仰臥伸展の状態で埋葬された被葬者は，金銅製の冠･履，金製の耳飾･銙帯（かたい）･腕輪･指輪，玉，太刀を身にまとっていた。棺外には，蓋に蓮華文を鋳出した青銅容器，鬼面を表現した木心漆面，馬具，鉄製武器･工具，鉄鋌，土器などの遺物が副葬されていた。
