Rapid auto‐reclosing

Japanese: 高速度再閉路 - こうそくどさいへいろ（英語表記）rapid auto‐reclosing

In a current switching device such as a circuit breaker, this refers to automatically closing the circuit within a short time following the opening operation. If an accident that occurs in a power system is quickly removed and the system is restored to normal as soon as possible, the power system will continue to operate stably and the supply of electricity to consumers will continue with almost no problems. Equipment accidents such as generators and transformers cannot be quickly restored, but in the case of a flashover accident of an insulator caused by lightning, such as a power line accident, once the accident section is separated from the power source and in a voltage-free state, the accident arc will automatically disappear, and the ionized air at the arc location will return to normal atmospheric conditions in a dozen or so cycles, and the accident will not recur even if voltage is applied again, and the system can continue to operate normally.

遮断器などの電流の開閉装置において，開路操作に引き続き短時間内に自動的に閉路操作を行わすことをいう。電力系統に発生した事故は速やかにこれを取り除いた後，できるだけ早く正常な系統に戻せれば，電力系統は安定に運転が続けられ，需要家への電力の供給はほとんど支障なく継続される。発電機，変圧器などの機器事故は早急に復旧できないが，送電線事故のように大部分が雷による碍子（がいし）のフラッシオーバー事故では，いったん事故区間が電源から切り離されて無電圧状態になれば，事故アークは自動的に消滅し，アーク発生個所のイオン化された空気は十数サイクルで通常の大気状態に戻り，再び電圧を課しても事故が再発せず，異常なく運転できる。
